Let’s bombard you with some more criminal trends - remember it’s just the public perception (or the internet-publishing public at least), not the true incidence rate. If an old crime gets a new name, for example, it will show a big increase. Identity theft might fit in this category.
While the next plot shows a probable increase in murder and a blip for “human trafficking” almost certainly related to the 2005 film of the same name (there’s no avoiding results like this - it’s how Compare Stuff works!).
